Your Transfer Roadmap Starts Here! — AB 928

What is AB 928?

AB 928 is a new California law that helps make transferring from community college to a university easier and faster. It combines the CSU and UC general education requirements into one pathway — so you stay on track and reach your goals!

Important Steps to Transfer Success:

  1. Set a Goal
Know where you want to go! Think about what career you want and what major will get you there.
  2. Choose a University & Major
Pick the university and major that matches your goals. This will help you plan your classes the right way.
  3. Meet with a Counselor to Create Your Transfer Roadmap
Don’t guess — get expert help! A counselor can help you build a step-by-step plan to transfer.

Guaranteed Pathway for College Transfer

The Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) Pathway is designed to help you complete both your major preparation and general education requirements at a California community college.

By following this pathway, you can secure guaranteed admission to participating four-year universities.

What Does the ADT Guarantee?

  • Guaranteed admission to the California State University (CSU) system
(Note: While admission to the CSU system is guaranteed, admission to a specific campus or major is not.)

More Transfer Options Available!

With your ADT, you can also explore transfer opportunities to:

  • Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)
  • Fully online colleges
  • Out-of-state and independent universities
  • Non-profit universities in California
